An Israeli news columnist is scorching Barack Obama as possibly the worst U.S. president in history, calling him "a living and breathing nightmare."

President Obama campaigning for other Democrats in 2010

Yigal Walt of Ynetnews says Obama "is solidifying his status as the worst president in American history. The leader who promised us a bright future of peace and fraternity is leading the American empire – and the rest of the world with it – into a dark abyss."

"Ever since he settled into the Oval Office, Obama has been hopping from one disaster to the next, making every possible mistake, boosting enemies and disregarding allies while ruining everything he touches in the process," Walt writes.

"The Return of the Great Depression" warns everyone "it is not over. It has only begun" ...

He says Obama was silent when the masses hit Iran's street and threatened to topple the ayatollah's regime.

"Why should he support a struggle waged by freedom-hungry citizens against a radical Islamic dictatorship and chronic human rights violator? And so, a rare opportunity to change the face of a state that today constitutes the gravest threat to world and regional peace slipped away."

Fat Cat Congressmen

Everything is bigger in Texas, including the bank accounts.

According to Roll Call’s annual survey of Member wealth, Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) is now the richest Member of Congress, with a fortune worth at least $294 million, a vast increase over last year that was apparently the result of large transfers from his in-laws.

The Texas lawmaker topples Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) from the No. 1 position, who reported a minimum net worth of $193 million on his most recent financial disclosure report and is now the third richest Member of Congress.

McCaul also leapfrogged Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), who remains the second richest Member of Congress, with a reported fortune of more than $220 million.

See the list of the 50 richest men in Congress.

Obama has another plan

Government

"The president is planning to unveil his new jobs proposals -- in September. Why wait until after Labor Day? Wouldn't it be neat to think, as we approach Labor Day, that the administration had a forward-looking plan in place right now? I think the 25 million unemployed or underemployed Americans would be especially excited to hear of a plan before they have to shell out for the kids' new school shoes. One of the trial balloons currently being floated is that the president will announce a new Department of Jobs. This has got to be a joke. ... If the function of the U.S. Secretary of Commerce is to promote job creation and economic growth, it sure seems that -- how can I say this charitably? -- this distinguished public servant has been falling down on the job of late. Like the last two and a half years. If I were Mr. Obama's Commerce Secretary, I'd want to get out of town, and fast. In fact, that's exactly what Sec. Gary Locke did. Having done such yeoman's work in promoting job creation and economic growth here, Gary Locke was recently sworn in as our Ambassador to China. Now, there's a jobs plan! If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. ... Maybe he can persuade them to buy more American flounder. We have entirely too much American floundering here and on Martha's Vineyard." --columnist Ken Blackwell

"New Jersey is being invaded by Martians!" - H.G. Wells

American Minute with Bill Federer

August 13

"New Jersey is being invaded by Martians!" was the script of a 1938 radio drama based on the novel War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells, who died AUGUST 13, 1946.

H.G. Wells wrote the best sellers The Time Machine, The Invisible Man, and The First Men in the Moon, which inspired a boy named Robert Goddard to become the father of modern rocketry.

At the National Space Club, March 29, 1985, President Reagan stated:

"Personally, I like space. The higher you go, the smaller the Federal Government looks..."

Reagan continued:

"Dr. Goddard once wrote a letter to H.G. Wells...'There can be no thoughts of finishing, for aiming at the stars...is a problem to occupy generations...there is always the thrill of just beginning.'"

In his Outlines of History, (NY: MacMillian Co., 1920), H.G. Wells said of the U.S. Constitution:

"Its spirit is indubitably Christian."

In Outlines of History, (NY: MacMillian Co., 1920, Vol. 2, p. 13), H.G. Wells wrote:

"Because Mohammed too founded a great religion, there are those who write of this evidently lustful and rather shifty leader as though he were a man to put beside Jesus of Nazareth or Gautama or Mani. But it is surely manifest that he was a being of commoner clay; he was vain, egotistical, tyrannous, and a self-deceiver; and it would throw all our history out of proportion if, out of an insincere deference to the possible Moslem reader, we were to present him in any other light."

In The Secret Places of the Heart, 1922, H.G. Wells wrote:

"Sir Richmond and Miss Grammont went out into the moonlit gloaming...crossed the bridge...and followed the road beside the river towards the old Abbey Church, that Lantern of the West...

said Sir Richmond...'It's only through love that God can reach over from one human being to another. All real love is a divine thing."

You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with glad cries of deliverance.

Thought for the Day: Our attention and concern can convey God's loving care to those near us.
Prayer: When we are especially vulnerable and defenseless, thank you, God, for covering us with your care and giving us new life. Help us remember to shield and warm others with your love. Amen.

Justice Department Investigating S&P Over Mortgage Securities

See what happens when you pizz Obama off.....bet they will think twice before lowering America's credit rating in the future.

Breaking News Alert

Justice Department Investigating S&P Over Mortgage Securities
The Department of Justice is investigating whether the nation’s largest credit ratings agency, Standard & Poor’s, improperly rated dozens of mortgage securities in the years leading up to the financial crisis, according to two people interviewed by the government and another briefed on such interviews.

The Justice Department has been asking about instances in which the agency’s analysts wanted to award lower ratings on mortgage bonds but may have been overruled by S.&P. executives, according to the people with knowledge of the interviews.
The investigation began before Standard & Poor’s cut the United States’ triple-A credit rating this month, but is likely to add fuel to the political firestorm that has surrounded that action.

Jesus, Mary and ... Josephine? It's lesbian Nativity at church

The Bible's account of the night Jesus was born is noted for some well-known characters at the Bethlehem manger, including the baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph and some shepherds following the instructions of an angel.
The famous wise men were not present, as they showed up later when Jesus was a young child in a house.

And as far as the New Testament indicates, there weren't any lesbians there either.

Now a Christian church in America's heartland is helping redefine the story, as its most-recent living Nativity scene in December featured two women instead of a man and a women starring as Joseph and Mary.

US CENSUS

CRAP! They sent my Census form back AGAIN! In response to the question: "Do you have any dependents ?" I replied - "12 million illegal immigrants, 3 million crack heads; 8.5 million unemployed people, 7 million in prisons; millions in every state collecting welfare and/or food stamps with no intentions of ever working, and 535 Useless people in the U.S. House and Senate." I guess this was NOT an acceptable answer.
